Hello Friends,
As an Endowment Life Member of the NRA and official NRA Recruiter, I'd like to briefly share with you some of my thoughts regarding the importance of you becoming a member.
Some of you take pride in being self sufficient.
Some of you know that the police are not going to camp outside your bedroom window whenever you are scared and protect you from harm 24 hours a day.
Some of you know that food doesn't always have to come from a grocery store.
Some of you know how much fun it is to compete in the various shooting sports.
Some of you have seen the classic movie, Red Dawn or know what the tern Sleeper Cell means.
There are a lot of people in this country who feel that the United States is a "free country" and that it will always be free and that nothing could ever possibly change that. There are a lot of people who are comfortable in their opinion that we can all just buy a gun anytime we want and that we will always be able to do so anytime we want. (For defense of self, family & country, for hunting and for recreation.)
But the truth of the matter is that our freedoms are threatened on a daily basis by not just foreign nationals who are hostile to the United States of America, but also by a multitude of large, well organized and well funded organizations or individuals who are passionate about their unfounded beliefs that guns are bad and that no one should be allowed to have any. Or worse, these groups and individuals feel that they belong to some elite corner of society and that it's okay for THEM to have guns but NOT for you "regular people" to have guns.
The best way to defend your right to keep and bear arms against large and powerful organizations is by joining a large and powerful organization like the NRA who has a full time staff of committed individuals who can counter the unrelenting onslaught of the anti-gun lobby and the anti-gun agenda of the mass media outlets.
Joining the NRA is not the only thing you can do to help defend your right to keep and bear arms, but it is the single biggest thing you can do to support the fight at a national level.
Right now, and as it has been for many years, in spite of what the 2nd Amendment says, there are MANY places in this country where a citizen in good standing can not buy a gun, can't carry a gun, or can't even keep a gun in their own home. The Constitution declares that no law of the land shall infringe upon your pre-existing right to keep and bear arms, yet many local or state governments in the United States blatantly infringe upon your right unchallenged. That is where the NRA can go to bat for you and oppose those who do not value your rights.
For thousands of years, governments have prohibited ordinary citizens from owning weapons as a means to control and enslave the masses. Today, as much as any other time in human history, freedom is measured by the ability of a person to freely keep and bear arms.
Freedom must be defended. Do you value your freedom? Please CLICK HERE to join the National Rifle Association of America.
Thank you for doing your part!
Various Gripes about the NRA Addressed Here:
I don't like all the mailings I receive from the NRA asking me for money.
For years, the NRA has had a separate mailing campaign that is completely separate and unrelated to the normal membership drive campaigns that they have going on. The way it works is that the mailings asking for money are sent out and then 2% or less of the money received from each mass mailing is put back into funding another mass mailing. The mailings are VERY HELPFUL to the NRA because they bring in very much needed revenue.
The mailings are completely self-sustaining and are not funded from membership dues. The mailings will continue as long as they continue to be self sustaining as described above. If you receive one of these mass mailings, don't allow yourself to feel guilty if you are not able to contribute any money at the present time. Just toss the mailing in the trash and make sure your membership remains current
Sometimes the NRA or an NRA spokesperson will do or say something that I don't agree with.
The NRA is always between a rock and a hard place where they need to please everyone but can't because the old saying "You can't please everyone" remains true. However, the NRA is still the the most powerful pro-gun organization in the United States and they very much need your help to defend our right to keep and bear arms.
